When our friends at the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC) asked Governor Deval Patrick to join Mayor Menino in recognizing “Thanksgivukkah” as an official holiday, he graciously obliged. As the voice for the organized Jewish community in the public square, the JCRC spends a lot of time with Governor Patrick, advocating for social justice, safety-net services and economic self-sufficiency. The JCRC reports that Governor Patrick was thrilled when asked to also join them in the Thanksgivukkah fun by proclaiming Nov. 28 “Thanksgivukkah” in the Commonwealth.

Thanksgivukkah is now officially official in Boston and in Massachusetts! (Click image to download the proclamation.)
